New Location!

I am so excited to announce that we have moved to our new location!  We are now at 9540 W. Flamingo #140 and #150 Las Vegas NV 89147 at the Flamingo and 215 exit.  Our beautiful new studio is 2400 sq. feet with two rooms.  Studio 1 is a fully equipped Pilates studio with 8 Studio Reformers, 1 Cadillac, 2 Wunda Chairs, 1 Ladder Barrel, 5 Spring Boards, 1 Ped O Pul, 1 Spine Corrector, and a Gyrotonic Pully Tower.

In Studio 2 we have 5 Lagree Fitness Megaformers.  We are the only studio in Nevada with the cutting edge Megaformers and are the only licensed Lagree Fitness studio in the state.

We also offer a Pilates Teacher Certification course.  We are currently enrolling students for our January 2015 course.

We offer Group Reformer classes, Megaformer classes, Mixed Equipment classes, Stretch +, Mat Classes, Pilates and Gyrotonic privates, Duets, and Pre-natal and Post-natel privates and classes.  As our studio continues to grow we will be adding more classes and studio hours.

Sebastien Lagree is coming to The Pilates Studio Las Vegas to kick off our 30-day Holiday Challenge!

The Pilates Studio Las Vegas is bringing Sebastien Lagree  the founder of Lagree Fitness to Las Vegas on Saturday October 26, 2013 to kick off our 30-day Holiday Challenge.  We are also celebrating our 1 Year Anniversary of Lagree Fitness (formerly SPX Pilates) and Megaformer classes.  Clients that want to look and feel fabulous for the holidays will start their 30-day quest with Sebastien Lagree teaching their first session.  This group will work out four times a week with Gracie Martinez on the Megaformer, Hollywood’s Hottest Workout and apparatus evolutionized by celebrity fitness guru Sebastien Lagree, and will have 2 consultations with Stephanie Shelburne about their holiday diet strategy.  You can also take a single class that day and experience one of the most amazing workouts and feel how your body can be transformed.

Join us and learn how to stay healthy through the holidays and enjoy yourself guilt free – not to mention that sexy body you’ll be rockin’.  Healthy appetizers will be served and kickin music from a guest DJ.   

A portion of the proceeds from our 30-day challenge will benefit The Jared Foundation.  As a leader in the fight to help children learn life-long healthy diet and exercise habits, The Jared Foundation provides programs for children ages 6-14 with support tools for parents, educators and healthcare professionals.  Today more than 5 million children in the US are overweight and it’s a growing epidemic.

‘ANIMA’ Dog Yoga Workshop

ANIMA is an amazing class for all kinds of people and pets.  It creates a loving, bonded relationship through touch and movement.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a master yogi or brand new.  Through ANIMA you and your pet will feel peace and harmony with with each other and with the environment that surrounds you.

Owner of Little White dog Co., Kristen Corral is certified in ANIMA through UNLV under the mentor ship of Amy Herzlich

This special workshop will be held on Saturday March 16th at 12:30pm.  A $20 dollar donation will benefit A Home 4 Spot.

  • Please arrive to class at least 20 minutes early and make sure your dog has used the restroom prior to entering the studio
  • You must bring your own yoga neat and a small blanket or towel
  • You must bring current shot records

Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the studio

The Megaformers are Here!

We are so excited to announce our new Megaformer classes.  This workout is amazing.  It is not your typical Pilates workout.  You are gonna sweat, your muscles will be shaking, and you will definitely feel it!

To start your Thanksgiving Day off right we will be offering special Megaformer classes on Thursday November 22nd at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 11:00 am.  We will also have classes on Friday November 23rd at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 11:00 am.

Starting Tuesday November 27th and Thursday November 29th will will be offering Megaformer classes at 11:00 am.  Space is very limited so sign up early.

We will be adding more classes in the next few weeks.

The Science behind the Megaformer

Why is the Megaformer so effective?

  • Slow and controlled movement.  The key is to NOT use momentum.  Each phase of the exercise takes 4 seconds or more.  You minimize the risk for injury.  You wake up other muscles that have adapted to your traditional routines.  You load muscles for a longer amount of time which will increase strength gains.
  • Muscle failure.  Each set is designed to work a muscle group to “failure”.  Muscular failure is when muscles can no longer contract concentrically.  During a session you will start to recruit slow twitch muscle fibers first.  As the set progresses, those muscles fibers will weaken and your body will recruit fast intermediate fibers.  For the last seconds of  of your set, the body will recruit your fast twitch fibers to finish.  It is progressive overloading and creates the greatest metabolic response.
  • EPOC.  Exercise post-excessive oxygen consumption.  Studies show that the greatest fat loss happens AFTER the workout.  During EPOC the body is recovering and thus is consuming oxygen at an elevated rate.  Energy is being expended which also means an elevated consumption of fat.  This can continue for up to 38 hours after a workout.

The Megaformer workout is a full body workout which increases endurance, muscle tone, fat-burning, cardio, strength, and flexibility.

CoreFitnessRoller course in Las Vegas

We are so excited to offer the CoreFitnessRoller course for trainers in Las Vegas.  This course is specifically designed for Pilates instructors and personal trainers.  

The CoreFitnessRoller is a unique apparatus that incorporates the benefit of the foam roller with added resistance to take your workout to a whole new level. You will successfully integrate balance, core stabilization, functional training, dance conditioning, and self-myofascial release with this technique.
